It is with great sadness that we must announce that one of the DCC family has recently passed away
Leslie Cheeseman passed away peacefully in Epsom hospital on the 29th March 2022 shortly before his 95th birthday. Having broken his hip in December and suffered a heart attack earlier this year, his last few months were fortunately full of joy with his family and his cat ‘Smokey’.
The service to celebrate Les and his life will be on Tuesday 10th May 11:30 at Cheam Methodist Church.
Donations (Family flowers only)
In lieu of floral tributes, alternative donations, if desired, to either: to Dorking Cricket club or the BDA Benevolent Fund (www.bdabenevolentfund.org.uk/)
A wake will be held after the burial service for light refreshments at The Rubbing House from 14:00. It would be helpful in making catering arrangements if those intending to be present would kindly inform the family before hand at (ideally by the 22nd April) to david.cheeseman@hotmail.co.uk.
Full details of arrangements can be found here https://www.dignityfunerals.co.uk/funeral-notices/29-03-2022-leslie-john-cheeseman/
Leslie John Cheeseman (24th May 1927 – 29th March 2022), a great innings held by a wonderful man.
Dorking Cricket Club would like to pass on their best wishes to his family, Val & his friends at this time. He was a regular supporter of all levels of cricket down at Pixham and would recently be seen with Val in their regular spot behind the famous Pixham Picket fence most weekends in the summer.
If you wish the club to pass on your wishes to the family, please email the senior membership secretary at seniors@dorkingcc.co.uk.
